NINH BÌNH — Vũ Hà Minh Đức successfully defended his title of the National Tennis Championships which closed on September 23 in Ninh Bình Province.
Đức, of Hải Đăng Tây Ninh Club, defeated Nguyễn Đắc Tiến of Hà Nội 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 in the final of the men's singles category which was organised without national strong contenders Lý Hoàng Nam and Trịnh Linh Giang.
In the women's singles, Demi Trần beat her younger sister Lian Trần 7-5, 6-2 in an all-military team final. It helped them maintain their top position, although defending champion Savanna Lý Nguyễn did not compete.
Demi Trần later secured her second gold when she paired with Nguyễn Thị Bé Xuyên and defeated Sĩ Bội Ngọc and Lê Thảo Hân, another pair from the military 6-4, 6-4 in the women's doubles event.

Later Lê Trung Tín and Lian Trần bagged the third gold for the military in the mixed doubles event. They won 6-2, 6-1 over Trương Vinh Hiển and Sophia Huỳnh Trần Ngọc Nhi of HCM City.
The men's doubles gold went to Tất Thái Nguyên and Từ Lê Khánh Duy of Thành Công Đắk Lắk Club after they beat Lê Quốc Khánh and Đắc Tiến of Hà Nội 6-2, 6-4.
With three golds, the military took the top place in the medal tally. Thành Công Đắk Lắk Club came second with one gold and one bronze, followed by Hải Đăng Tây Ninh with one gold.
At the tournament, athletes and coaches joined the organising committee and the audience, to collect donations in support victims of the Typhoon Yagi happened in the north earlier this month. VNS
