HÀ NỘI — National judo team have left for the Györ European Open 2024 which will be held on February 10-12 in Hungary.
Three athletes Hoàng Thị Tình, Nguyễn Ngọc Diễm Phương and Chu Đức Đạt are expected to collect points for their world ranking from this event, so they would qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Tình is the Southeast Asian and SEA Games reigning champion. She will compete in the women's 48kg.
Phương won SEA Games' bronze last May in Cambodia in the women's 57kg.
Đạt is also SEA Games champion in the men's 60kg class.
The trio competed in the Grand Prix France 2024 early this month and the Grand Prix Portugal 2024 in January.
All tournaments that offer points for athletes will end on June 23. Two days later, Olympic qualified athletes will be announced.
At the previous Games, Nguyễn Thanh Thủy was Việt Nam's only representative but she was eliminated from the first round. VNS
