HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam's top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam was knocked out in the first round of the Internazionali Di Tennis D'Abruzzo in Italy on Tuesday.
He was defeated 1-6, 4-6 by Alexey Vatulin of Russia within an hour on clay, one of his least favourite surfaces.
The world No 416 earlier defeated No 440 Gerard Granollers of Spain 7-6 (4), 6-7 (11) 7-5 in qualification.
The Italian tournament is an ATP Challenge event with a total prize money of 46,000 euros (US$51,700). — VNS
