HÀ NỘI -- Nguyễn Thị Oanh won Việt Nam a gold at the Hong Kong Athletics Championship on May 5.
Oanh finished first in the women's 3,000m steeplechase event, leaving all other runners far behind.
She won in a time of 10min 15.84sec, a gap of nearly three minutes to the nearest rival Chan Wing Tung of the hosts. Tang Yuen Shuen, another runner from Hong Kong, was third.
Oanh will compete in the 5,000m event later.
Earlier, Bùi Thị Loan won a bronze in the women's long jump with a 6.01m result.
The Vietnamese team ttook part in the championships with six athletes on May 4-5. VNS
