HÀ NỘI  Four Vietnamese referees have been suspended from duty until the end of the season, according to the Việt Nam Football Federation.

Referees Trần Đình Thịnh and Ngô Quốc Hưng and assistant referees Lê Xuân Vũ and Nguyễn Trung Nam have been axed after a series of mistakes.

Thịnh did not give SHB Đà Nẵng a penalty after Sanna Khánh Hoà’s goalkeeper Nguyễn Tuấn Mạnh stepped on Đà Nẵng’s striker Phan Văn Long’s head in the box during their match on August 10. Đà Nẵng lost 0-1.

In last weekend’s match, Đà Nẵng suffered another inaccurate decision from referee Hưng and assistant Vũ against Hà Nội FC.

Hà Nội keeper Văn Công moved forward off his line when Đà Nẵng’s striker Đỗ Merlo took a penalty. Công saved the effort which should have led to the penalty being retaken. Đà Nẵng lost 1-2.

At the same time, assistant Nam did not see that Hồ Sỹ Giáp of Becamex Bình Dương score from an offside position in the match versus Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. Bình Dương won 3-0.

All of them will ref again until the end of the season in October. VNS
