HA NOI — Vietnamese cyclist Nguyen Thanh Tam from Tap Doan Loc Troi won the the fifth stage of the 27th National Cycling Open – Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang Cup on Wednesday.
Tam triumphed in the 110km race from Cao Lanh City in Dong Thap Province to Can Tho City with a time of 2:53.18, followed by Le Nguyet Minh and Nguyen Van Binh.
Trinh Duc Tam from Tap Doan Loc Troi still retained the yellow jersey with an overall time of 13:14.54, followed by Mai Nguyen Hung and Nguyen Truong Tai from VUS Ho Chi Minh City.
Mai Nguyen Hung from VUS Edgar Neito holds the green jersey with 89 points, followed by Trinh Duc Tam (81 points) and Nguyen Truong Tai (61 points).
In the team rankings, VUS Ho Chi Minh City continue to lead with the best overall time of 39:46.32, followed by Tap Doan Loc Troi and Domesco Dong Thap.
On Thursday cyclists will complete on the sixth stage with 24 laps around Can Tho City. — VNS
