HCM CITY – Tiger Beer of HEINEKEN Vietnam Brewery Co., Ltd has officially opened its Tiger Street Football field in Mộc Hóa District in Long An Province.
The project is the result of two months of construction with the support of Mộc Hóa District’s Culture-Information and Broadcasting Centre.
The mini football field is one of three football fields that Tiger Beer promised to build last year as part of its commitment to support local street-football talents in Việt Nam.
According to the representative of Tiger Beer, the other two fields will be built in Huế and Nam Định provinces. The total investment for the three mini football fields is valued at VNĐ 1.2 billion (about US$52,000).
The locations for the football fields were decided by fans through public votes on the Tiger Beer Facebook page during the Tiger Street Football 2019 campaign.
The mini football field in Long An Province is for 5 vs 5 players (20x40 metres), while the one in Nam Định and Huế are 30x50 metres and for 7 vs 7 players.
Tiger Beer has had a strong commitment to supporting football development in Việt Nam. The football fields are the next step in extending support to the local street-football community and to give back to society.
Lê Văn Hường, regional sales commercial manager for HEINEKEN Việt Nam, on behalf of Tiger Beer, said at the ceremony: “This community project is our way of uncaging these talents and providing them with permanent platforms to nurture, hone and showcase their skills.”
Lâm Hòa Xứng, chairman of Mộc Hóa District’s People Committee said the project would provide opportunities for talented players to develop their skills in football. — VNS
