HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam national football team have received VNĐ5.6 billion (US$243,400) from the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) and enterprises for their result in the 2022 FIFA World Cup’s second qualifying round.
Following the 1-0 win against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Hà Nội-based Mỹ Đình National Stadium on Thursday, Việt Nam immediately got a bonus of VNĐ2 billion ($87,000) from the VFF and CT Group.
Earlier, the VFF also awarded VNĐ1 billion ($43,500) for the victory over Malaysia on October 10 and VNĐ800 million ($34,700) for the win against Indonesia away on October 15.
The Vietnamese squad also received VNĐ1 billion ($43,500) from Hưng Thịnh real estate business investment corporation as well as VNĐ500 million ($21,700) from Danko Group and VNĐ300 million ($13,000) from Bigbuy24h Việt Nam company.
Today, Việt Nam return to training ahead of the match with Thailand on November 19 at Mỹ Đình National Stadium.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup’s second qualifying round for Asia features 40 teams, divided into eight groups of five teams, playing in the home-away format.
The eight group winners and four best runners-up will qualify for the third and final round of the World Cup qualifiers. — VNS
