HCM CITY — HCM City once again proved itself to be a must-visit place in Asia as travellers named its network of wartime tunnels and a 130-year-old post office among the top 25 landmarks of the region.
Cu Chi Tunnels, a 200km complex built and gradually expanded by Vietnamese fighters between the late 1940s and the 1960s, ranks eighth in the list.
Located in the city’s surburban district of Cu Chi, the tunnels were used to shelter fighters battling US soldiers during the war, complete with hospitals, living spaces and storage areas.
TripAdvisor travellers also picked the ancient Angkor temples, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Buddhist temples in Thailand and Myanmar, the modern Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur and the Singapore Flyer. — VNS
