ĐÀ NẴNG — The Korean hospitality corporation, the Shilla Hotels & Resorts, will debut its latest brand name, Shilla Monogram Đà Nẵng, marking the first footprint out of Korea in the first quarter of 2020.
It said the resort project, which was a co-operative project between the corporation of Korea and Thành Công Land Group (TCG Land), was built on 2ha with total investment of US$50 million from 2017.
The resort offers 309 rooms of residence and villa buildings as well as meeting halls in Điện Nam-Điện Ngọc urban zone in the middle of Hội An and Đà Nẵng.
The Shilla Monogram Đà Nẵng project will be the first step for the Korean corporation before expanding others property projects in Hà Nội and cities in the US, Indonesia in merging as a Korean Global Hotel Chain.
The Korean flagship of the leading hospitality group, established in 1979 as a part of Samsung Group, said it has introduced Shilla Monogram - an upper-upscale brand, fulfilling its three-line hotel brand system: the Shilla (Luxury), (Upper Upscale), and Shilla Stay (Up-Scale) in central Việt Nam.
It also operated a number of duty-free stores in Korean and foreign airports, including locations at three of Asia’s busiest airports: Singapore’s Changi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Incheon International Airport.
The beach-front Shilla Monogram Đà Nẵng features 309 rooms and is located right in the middle of Đà Nẵng and Hội An, the two most popular destinations for Korean, Japanese and European tourists in central Việt Nam.
Targeting both European and increasing Asian holidaymakers, this life-style resort promises to deliver premium hotel experiences with an eye for detail.
South Korea also plans to open a Consulate Office in the city in 2020 to boost tourism and investment, while the South Korea Trade and Investment Agency (KOTRA) opened a representative office in the city in 2019.
Korean tourists are the largest segment of foreign tourist arrivals to Đà Nẵng with 1.8 million arriving in 2019, nearly 50 per cent of total foreign travellers.
At the same time, Korean investors poured $316 million into 192 projects, the fifth biggest foreign investment in Đà Nẵng.
Both Vietnamese and Korean airlines are operating 12 flights weekly flights between Korean cities and Đà Nẵng, carrying an average of 1,500 passengers to the city. — VNS
