The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre has opened a
new culture centre for tourists at a historic site that had been an
office during the Hue royal dynasty.
Experts from Poland are helping to restore a stone steel in the Khiem
Lang (Mausoleum) in Hue, which is the final resting place of the fourth
king of the Nguyen dynasty.
Poland has committed VND840 million (roughly US$40,000) to fund a
project to refurbish Mausoleum of King Tu Duc (1829-83) in the Hue royal
heritage complex.
The restoration of the temple of Princess Dien
Phuoc, eldest sister of King Tu Duc (the fourth emperor of the Nguyen
dynasty from 1847-83), will be funded by the UNESCO World Heritage
Institute at Waseda University in Japan.
