National carrier Vietnam Airlines and the National Sports Administration
yesterday held a farewell for the Vietnamese sports delegation taking
part in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Vietnamese fencers are aiming to win the first gold
medals for the Viet Nam sports delegation at the coming 28th Southeast
Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore next month.
Viet Nam have been set a goal of winning from 60 to
70 gold medals to rank in the top three at the 28th Southeast Asian
(SEA) Games to be held in Singapore from June 5-16.
The National Sports Administration will invest VND3.8 billion
(US$180,000) to train 11 Vietnamese disabled athletes to help them earn
cards for competing in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
The National Sports Administration has decided to send 146 players to
the fourth Asian Beach Games that will be held in Thailand from November
14 to 23.
Viet Nam will send 12 martial artists to vie for
gold medals in the taekwondo event at the upcoming 17th Asian Games
(Asiad) to be hosted in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to
November 4.
General director of the National Sports Administration Vuong Bich Thang
has signed a memorandum on sports co-operation with Chung Jung Teak,
chairman of South Korea Sports Promotion Foundation in Ha Noi.
The National Sports Administration yesterday
announced the 26-man national squad for two Asian Cup qualifying games
which will take place later this year.
