Tran Quang Hung, deputy chairman of Phu Quoc District''s People''s
Committee in Kien Giang Province, said the district had developed a plan
to welcome Russian tourists to Phu Quoc Island.
Russian tourists visiting the central coast will,
from next month, be able to take charter flights to HCM City and travel
to the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta, the Binh Thuan Province-based Anh Duong
travel agency has said.
Nearly 800 Russian tourists have visited central
coastal cities and provinces since early this year, Vice Consul to Da
Nang Anton Golubev, confirmed yesterday.
After Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, the coastal city of
Da Nang has become a popular haunt for Russian tourists, with some
36,000 scheduled to arrive in the city on charter flights between March
and September.
