Two-star Michelin chef Alain Dutournier — “principal conductor” of La Table du Chef in Ha Noi--will share his passion for culinary creation as well as his amazing techniques in a cooking class for Ha Noi’s food bloggers tomorrow morning.

During the class, which will last 60 to 90 minutes, the French chef, who was granted the Knight of Order of Academic Palms, will introduce to attendees the art of haute cuisine using seasonal ingredients from both Viet Nam and France.

Dutournier was born southwestern France into a family where his grandmother and mother dedicated most of their time to cooking. Ever since childhood, he learned to respect and appreciate authentic local products.

“Tradition is my first source of inspiration. Bringing people happiness when they taste good food is my second source of inspiration,” the chef said.

Dutournier opened his first bistro Au Trou Gascon when he was 24 years old. Today the bistro is a Michelin 1-Star Restaurant in the 12th District of Paris. His Le Carre des Feuillants is a Michelin 2-Star Restaurant.

He currently is visiting Ha Noi to rejuvenate the menu at La Table du Chef – his first fine dining restaurant outside of France. By opening the restaurant, he wishes to share his culinary passion with more connoisseurs, especially local ones.
