HCM CITY — The filming of the longest-running TV series on the lives of Viet Nam’s criminal police will start in HCM City next week.
The 1,100-part series, titled Ho So Lua (Black List), is produced by Cong An TP HCM (HCM City Police) newspaper’s film studio Nguoi Bao Ve (Guardian), in co-operation with 24h Good and Sena Studio.
The show’s first part, Mat Danh D9 (Code D9), is directed by Vo Ngoc, and stars Binh Minh, Khuong Ngoc, Hoang Phuc and Vo Thanh Tam.
The screenplay was written by Lai Van Long, author and reporter at the Cong An TP HCM, who spent several months working on the script.
“People appreciate the great contributions of the criminal police to the country’s socio-economic development. However, they also ask our police to continue to improve their professional skills to fulfill the mission of building a better society,” Long said.
He added that Ho So Lua would help audiences learn more about the work of criminal police.
“The series is about the challenges and conflicts in work that police have to face daily. It focuses on their lives and silent sacrifices,” said Long, who spent more than 25 years working in news and reporting related to the work of criminal police.
Long said the producers had invited a group of skilled writers to work on the screenplay for the film’s remaining shows.
The film will air on March on SCTV14. — VNS
