HCM CITY — The Reibner Big Band from Germany will stage a free concert at the Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City on August 21 evening.
The band from Bavaria performs folk music with wind instruments, including the tuba, trombone, trumpet, saxophone and clarinet.
The group plays both brass band music as well as classical dance and light music.
The band has performed worldwide at folk festivals such as Oktoberfest in Munich, as well as weddings.
Band leader Reinhardt ReiBner once worked at a public school in Neuburg. He and his band have been touring for 20 years, including Australia, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
The band’s shows have included a concert before a general audience for Pope John Paul II in Rome, a performance at the Venice Carnivale, and a concert featuring 2,000 students playing wind instruments in Bavaria.
The concert begins at 6.30pm at Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City, 33 Le Duan Street, District 1. Entrance is free. — VNS
