HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam's most popular award events and also one of the nation’s most prestigious music contests – Làn Sóng Xanh (Blue Wave) – is now open for its year-end vote.

Music fans can send their votes by email to lansongxanhradio@gmail.com or to the Facebook Fanpage Làn Sóng Xanh.

The organisation board will also collect votes from universities and colleges located in HCM City as well as from their partners to come up with the top five in 14 categories, which will be finally voted on by a council of 200 members.

According to the organisation board, Blue Wave 2019 features many new singers and songwriters who entered the charts for the first time, like Lyly, Emma, Emily, Amee, Thịnh Suy and Đạt G, as well as rappers like Đen, Osad or Bray.

Entering its 22th season, Blue Wave, jointly produced by Voice of HCM City Radio Station and Madison Group, will include 12 episodes that will be broadcast on FM99.9 Mhz Channel at 12am every Friday.

Besides radio, the audience can also watch the programme on Youtube Vivo TV at 7pm every Saturday or on AMC TV channel of Saigontourist Cable Television Company Limited at 8pm the following Saturday.

With the aim to connect artists to fans and encourage the artists’ dedication to the domestic music industry, Blue Wave 2019 will allow viewers to make the questions to challenge the artists on the official fanpage of the programme. From the audience’s comments, the producers will collect and develop specific topics for each contestant.

The voting will close on December 6.

Blue Wave was first broadcast on FM frequency 99.9 MHz in 1997 to promote Vietnamese pop music.

Every week, the programme called for votes for the best songs, singers and composers.

At the end of each year, VOH awarded the Blue Wave Music Awards to musicians who received the most votes from listeners during the year.

For 22 years, the programme has brought fame to numerous Vietnamese singers and composers considered to be the golden generation of Vietnamese music. — VNS
