National musicians perform at museum

HÀ NỘI — A concert entitled Giai Điệu Mùa Xuân (Spring Melodies) will be held at 3.45pm on Sunday at Việt Nam National Museum of Fine Arts (VNAM). 

Under conductor Nguyễn Khắc Thành, the concert features classical music including Mozart's Alla Turka; Strauss II's Voices of Spring and Albert Ketèlbey's In a Persian Market.

Soprano Nguyễn Bảo Yến will sing popular opera arias such as Bizet's Carmen suite No1; Quando men vo - aria from Puccini's La Boheme; aria Mein Herr Marquis (Laughing Song) from Fledemaus opera by J. Strauss's and Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale.

Born in 1990, Yến received a Ph.D in music in Ural Federal University, Russia. She won the first prize at the 16th International Culture, Art and Creative Festival in Tyumen City, Russia in 2017 and the second prize at Academia International Singing contest in Perm, Russia in 2014.

Her most recent award is the second prize at the 2023 National Opera - Choir Competition.

The concert is among a series held by the museum on the last Sunday of each month, according to the museum director Nguyễn Anh Minh. 

"Our series Music and Fine Arts in Harmony was successful and impressed the public. The concerts have been co-held by the museum and Việt Nam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) aiming at paying gratitude to museum visitors and popularising the museum to the public." 

The concert will offer free entrance and end at 4.50pm. — VNS

VNAM and VNSO co-organise a concert series at VNAM ground.
