HA NOI — The first three episodes of the Vietnamese animated movie series Monta Trong Dai Ngan Ha Ky Cuc (Monta In The Weird Galaxy) will be aired on Friday in Ha Noi.

It is the first animated series to be released by Vintata Animation Studio, whose mission is ‘bringing laughter to children’.

With a unique plot and interesting characters, the movies aim to take viewers on a fun-packed journey.

“At Vintata, we consider researching and piloting the prerequisites for producing outstanding movies which are of international standard in terms of image and close to Vietnamese audiences in terms of content. With our mission of bringing happiness to children, we used our passion for animation to bring Monta closer to Vietnamese families,” said Nguyen Phi Phi Anh, the director of Vintata Studio.

The idea for Monta In The Weird Galaxy came from the team for The Whale Hunters, which included Nguyen Hoang Vu (1993), Luong Vo Thanh Luan (1988), Sy Huu Vinh (1988) and Duong Minh Loc (1988). The team won the first prize in screenwriting contest The Wanted Writer launched by Vintata last year.

The screenplay was developed by Jeffrey Scott, who has been nominated for five Emmy Awards.

Nearly 70 artists have worked for six months at a pace of 7,200 pictures per week for the three episodes, which is a record for Viet Nam.

After its premiere in cinemas, the movie is expected to be released on different platforms and channels, with more episodes in the making. — VNS
