HÀ NỘI — Renowned Vietnamese fashion designer Đỗ Trịnh Hoài Nam will present his collection on the first day of the New York Couture Fashion Week 2019 held between September 6 and 8.
Attending the event for the second time, Nam will show off 'S Vietnam'.
The collection feature dresses and áo dài (traditional long dress) on various soft cloth materials with printed background of flowers, leaves and various cultural symbols of Hà Nội like the One-Pillar Pagoda, Thăng Long Citadel, Hoàn Kiếm Lake as well as famous landscapes of the country like Hạ Long Bay, Hội An ancient town and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary.

On its website, the event announced that it will gather various famous international designers.
“Now in its 30th consecutive season as one of New York Fashion Week’s best events, Couture Fashion Week has presented hundreds of designers and worked with top models, performers, stylists and sponsors from around the globe,” the site reads.
Nam’s collection will be presented at 8pm, New York time, on September 6.
The collection is made of silk with decorative patterns of flowers and leaves as well as landscapes in Việt Nam.
He has prepared for the event for almost a year.
In 2017, Nam was the only Vietnamese designer to exhibit with his collection 'Sen Vàng' (Yellow Lotus).
Nam has been in the fashion industry for more than 20 years and has customers all over the world including politicians, celebrities and businesswomen. — VNS
