DA NANG — A photo exhibition has been opened at the Sun World Ba Na Hills mountain resort to mark the 10th anniversary of the complex.
The exhibition which started on Monday and will last till the end of this year, features old and new photos of the resort since it was founded by the French in 1901, and the first two-storey hotel was built on the mountain in 1923.
Sun World Ba Na Hills is a popular destination in Da Nang with year-round festivals and entertainment services, including the country’s biggest tulip festival.
The resort’s cable car route holds four Guinness World records including the longest one line cable car in the world (5,771.61m); the highest height difference between departure and destination (1,368.93m); the longest non-stop cable (11,585m); and the world’s heaviest cable rolls (141.24 tonnes).
The cable car, able to carry 1,500 passengers per hour, was also listed as 10 of the world’s most amazing cable car experiences by CNN in 2013.
The resort also features the famous Cau Vang (Golden Bridge), images of which went viral last year. The bridge held by giant hands was selected among Reuters’ top pictures for August of 2018, and on a list of the top 100 World’s Greatest Places for 2018 by the Time magazine.
