HCM CITY — A collection of 74 watercolour paintings by Vietnamese and foreign artists is being shown at the HCM City Watercolour Painting exhibition at HCM City’s Fine Arts Association.

The event showcases 63 works by 46 professional and amateur artists from across the country, featuring different topics about Viet Nam’s landscapes, women, people’s lives, and still life.

Of these, there are 30 paintings, created by 15 members of the Sai Gon Watercolour Club during a field trip to the northwestern province of Ha Giang, which was organised by the association in early April.

They include Pho Co Dong Van (Dong Van Ancient Town) by Ca Le Dung, Sang Som Cho Dong Van (Morning at Dong Van Market) by Truong Lo and Thon Ta Phin (Ta Phin Village).

The exhibition is also displaying 11 paintings by artists from Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and Turkey. The works reflect Vietnamese landscapes such as Hue and Ha Long Bay.

Painter Siu Quy, standing vice chairman of the Fine Arts Association, said: “The paintings at the exhibition feature various sides of Viet Nam from the landscape to the people and their lives.”

“They also reflect the professional skills of Vietnamese artists,” he said.

The exhibition will close on May 24. The association is located at 218A Pasteur Street in District 3. — VNS
