HCM CITY The city plans to display fireworks at 16 locations, including 10 locations along the Saigon River, to celebrate the 49th anniversary of South Liberation and National Reunification Day on April 30.
The Department of Culture and Sports has proposed one high-altitude fireworks show at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thủ Đức City) and 15 low-altitude fireworks shows.
The 15-minute spectacular firework displays will begin at 9 pm on April 30.
This is the first time the department has proposed a fireworks display on the Saigon River with a scale of 10 locations, including Vạn Phúc Urban Area (Thủ Đức City), Thanh Đa Park (Ward 27, Bình Thạnh District), Rạch Chiếc Bridge (Trường Thọ ward, Thủ Đức city), Thảo Điền villa area (Thảo Điền ward, Thủ Đức city), Landmark 81 park (ward 22, Bình Thạnh district), Ba Son wharf and Bạch Đằng wharf (Bến Nghé ward, District 1), top of Saigon River tunnel area (Thủ Đức city, high-altitude shooting point), Tân Thuận 1 bridge area (ward 18, district 4), and the riverbank area of Thành Mỹ Lợi ward (Thủ Đức City).
Six low-level points in the area along the riverbank in lot N4 - D6 of the Northwest industrial park (Cu Chi), the historical relic site of Ngã Ba Giồng (Hóc Môn), Láng Le Bàu Cò Relic Site in Bình Chánh District, Đầm Sen cultural park (District 11), District 7 administrative centre, and Rừng Sác Square (Cần Giờ) will also feature fireworks shows.
