Photo exhibition dedicated to French cuisine

Exhibition ‘Toque Blanche – The Quintessence of French Cuisine in Hà Nội’ with the participation of several French restaurants in Hà Nội will be opened  from tomorrow.

HÀ NỘI — A photography exhibition dedicated to French cuisine will open at L’Espace on Friday.

Entitled ‘Toque Blanche – The Quintessence of French Cuisine in Hà Nội’, the exhibition will introduce photos taken by Vietnamese photographer Hai LeCao and Chimkudo Studio.

While the black-and-white portraits by LeCao capture the vivid and ecstatic moments of talented chefs, the photos by Chimkudo Studio present the vitality of French cuisine through vibrant-coloured food.

In addition, with the support of the augmented reality (AR) technology by French artist Fabien Jacob, the photos are expected to offer visitors a deeper impression of French cuisine which was recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010.

Chefs from several French restaurants in Hà Nội have joined the photography project including Le Beaulieu (Sofitel Legend Metropole), French Grill (JW Marriott), Café du Lac (InterContinental Hanoi Westlake), 3 Spoons (InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72), Press Club Hanoi, Maison Vie, Les Oubliés, Cousins and La Badiane.

At the exhibition’s opening, guests will also have a chance to sample canapes prepared by the restaurants.

The free entrance exhibition will be launched at 6pm and run until May 9. L’Espace is at 24 Tràng Tiền Street.

As part of the project, on May 5, a workshop entitled ‘Cultural Stories Through Food Photography” will be held with the participation of photographer Hùng Nguyễn from Chimkudo Studio, and food stylist Nguyễn Minh Hiền. — VNS
