HCM CITY — A 25-year-old man from the northern port city of Hải Phòng has been crowned Mister World Vietnam to represent the nation at the upcoming Mister World competition to take place in Việt Nam for the first time in September.
Beating 28 other contestants, model Phạm Tuấn Ngọc won the title on Saturday night and received a cash prize of VNĐ200 million (US$7,850).
During the final round, Ngọc displayed his talents in guitar playing and martial arts, as well as participated in various segments such as costume displays, sportswear presentations and formal attire showcases.
In a Q&A session for the top five finalists, Ngọc delivered an excellent response to a question on environmental awareness, emphasising the significance of using eco-friendly products, conserving energy and engaging in environmental protection initiatives.
Standing at 1.83 metres tall, Ngọc, who speaks excellent English, holds a degree in English language from the National Economics University.
Contestants underwent a series of challenging rounds including sports, talent displays, fashion presentations and talking about their charitable initiatives before reaching the final stage.
Eligible Vietnamese men for the competition must be between the ages of 18 and 27, at least 1.75 metres tall and meet specific criteria such as being single, absence of gender transition surgery, no criminal record and have graduated high school.
The male beauty pageant began in April to select a representative for the upcoming Mister World 2024 to be held in Phan Thiết City in Bình Thuận Province.
