HA NOI — The tenth national sports festival for ethnic groups will start on November 2 in the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh.
More than 700 athletes from 17 cities and provinces will take part, including Ha Noi, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Yen Bai.
Participants will compete in eight events, including football, volleyball, marathon, stick pushing, crossbow shooting and tug of war.
The event aims to improve the health and spiritual life of ethnic groups, promote traditional cultural values and enhance solidarity among the community of Vietnamese groups. It will run until November 10. — VNS
