Hunt on for would-be movie actors

HA NOI — Viet Nam Cinematography Association is launching a search for talented actors to appear in Vietnamese movies and television series.

The contest will be open to all Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese aged from 15 to 30 for females and 16 to 35 for males.

Contestants must be attractive and have a good voice. Entrants younger than 18 years old need parental consent.

In the first round, the judges will approve applications of two unphotoshopped 15cm by 10cm photos featuring portrait and body shots from each applicant.

Voting will take place in the north on July 5 and on July 20 in the south.

The contestants will have to monologue on camera and will be given dramatic scenes by the judges to perform. The top ten contestants will vie for first place in the final round in Ha Noi or HCM City.

They will go straight to the final round at the end of July.

One gold and two silver prizes will be awarded to the winners. They will receive training at the SBS Academy and be given opportunities to cast roles in movies and television series produced by Viet Nam Television Centre, Thien Ngan Studio, Phuoc Sang Studio, Tri Viet Media, and FPT Media.

Additionally, the winners will appear on the front cover of the World of Cinema magazine.

Images of the contestants may be used for advertising and commercial purposes by the organisers without the competitor's permission.

Applications forms can be sent to the 51 Tran Hung Dao Street, Ha Noi and 87 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 3, HCM City, or through email tuyendienvien@thegioidienanh.vn from April to June 30. — VNS
