HA NOI — Enhancing women’s involvement in cultural, sports and tourism activities is the focus of a deal signed between the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Viet Nam Women’s Union in Ha Noi.
For the next four years, the two sides will organise activities to preserve and promote traditional culture, tackle violence against women, end inequality, hold sporting events and develop tourism.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said the deal targets the role of women in culture, sports, tourism and family issues. She said women played an important role in developing a civilised society.
“Last year the ministry collaborated with the Women’s Union to upgrade women’s awareness and involvement in family issues in six Ha Giang, Tien Giang, Yen Bai, Quang Binh, Dak Lak and HCM City,” she said. — VNS
