New releases to launch at Christmas Book Fair

HCM CITY  (VNS) — The 2015 Christmas Book Fair, organised by Nha Nam Culture and Communications Company in co-operation with 17 publishers, will begin in HCM City tomorrow.

The five-day fair at the HCM City Exhibition House on 92 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1 aims to "create an opportunity for readers to find new and interesting publications at preferential prices," according to a release from organisers.

The fair will offer discounts of 25 per cent to 50 per cent on a variety of publications besides a parity book price ranging from VND10,000 to VND35,000.

The fair will also see the launch of several publications, including the novel Sai Gon, Bao Nho (Sai Gon, Miss) by Dam Ha Phu, reportage novel Xom Ra (Ra Hamlet) by Ngoc Giao, and detective novel Co Gai Tren Tau (The Girl on the Train) by Paula Hawkins on the opening day of the fair.

South Korean novel Ca Hoi (Salmon), colouring book Bep Nha Lua Do (Warm Home Kitchen) by Truong Xuan Bach on Friday, and Viet Nam Su Luoc (Viet Nam Summary History) by Tran Trong Kim, are expected to each be launched on three consecutive days.

Signing of books will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 9:30-11:30am, and 4-6pm with authors Vu Lap Nhat, Dinh Hang and Dam Ha Phu.

Author Dinh Hang of the autobiography Qua Tre De Chet – Hanh Trinh Nuoc My (Too Young to Die – American Journey), will sell her book collections and donate all proceeds for the programme helping kidney patients with dialysis.
