HÀ NỘI — Japanese brand Orient has released a limited edition watch imprinted with an image of Khuê Văn Các (the Constellation of Literature Pavilion) and the national map, including the Spratly and Paracel archipelagoes, in Hà Nội.
To celebrate the 1,010th anniversary of the foundation of the capital Thăng Long, now called Hà Nội, which falls on 2020, Tân Hải Minh Company – a watch importer – and Orient unveiled the special edition timepiece showing love and respect for Hà Nội and the Vietnamese market.
The watch face is graced by Khuê Văn Các, built in 1805 inside the Temple of Literature in Hà Nội, an official symbol of the capital city. Under the iconic symbol are the words “1010 years Thang Long - Ha Noi”.

The Orient 1010 edition has one model for women and two models for men. They all have a semi-skeleton design showing the mechanism inside. The price for each watch ranges from VNĐ9.8-11.8 million (US$425-510).
“We expect that the special edition produced by a world-leading brand will help promote the image of Việt Nam to the world,” said Tân Hải Minh Company’s director Bùi Tuấn Minh.
“This is the first time the iconic symbol of Hà Nội has been imprinted on watches of a foreign brand. It’s a chance to introduce Vietnamese people and anyone who loves Hà Nội to a meaningful product.”
The launch ceremony, which took place on Sunday, also wrapped up a photo contest co-organised by the Việt Nam Association of Photographic Artists and Tân Hải Minh Company.
