HA NOI — Nguyen Cong Tri, one of Viet Nam’s top designers, opened the Fall Winter Vietnam International Fashion Week 2016 with his impressive collection "The girl of a stranger, and me!"
This year marks Tri’s 10th year in the fashion business. After a decade, he wanted to remember the first days in the business as a young talented man with lots of passion but little experience. He has come a long way to join the best designers in our country.
His designs this year boast a large strong colour palate with materials ranging from taffeta to fur with lots of lavishly ornated gowns.
Next Top Model 2016 runner-up La Thanh Thanh opened Tri's show.

Tri chose only three Vietnamese models for opening and ending his show, and the rest were westerners from Ha Noi. Supermodel Thanh Hang wowed the thousands in the audience when she closed the show in her pink bodysuit extravaganza.
Ms. Trang Le, ViFW President, said in her opening speech that Viet Nam also takes on the world trend of "see now, buy now". It means now fashionistas do not have to wait for six months until they can purchase the show costumes the day after the show. All show costumes will be for sale after this week at Ha Noi’s Trang Tien Plaza. "It is the organisers choice to protect designers' creativity as their designs shallnot be copied," Trang Le said. — VNS
