HCM CITY — Artist Nguyen Quoc Dan's multicoloured paintings formed by "colour strings" are now on show at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum.

The exhibition, Phi Lap The Da Sac Mau (Multicolour Non-Cubism), includes 25 paintings in acrylic on canvas. Last year, he had a solo show at the Applied Art Gallery in Binh Thanh District.

According to Dan, objects are formed by "colour strings", and he always uses these strings to express his ideas.

The 28-year-old artist said he had arranged cords of colours side by side on the canvas to create multicoloured and multi-dimensional images.

"I think that viewers can see my artistic inspirations and immerse themselves in the flow of multicoloured cords emerging on canvas," he said.

All works are titled Phi Lap The Da Sac Mau (Multicoloured Non-Cubism) and numbered from 1 to 25.

Dan was born in Duy Xuyen District in the central province of Quang Nam.

He graduated from the HCM City Fine Arts University in 2009.

The exhibition at 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street in District 1 will close on May 27. — VNS
