HA NOI — The HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced it has not licensed a fight between Canadian martial artist Pierre Francois Flores and Vietnamese boxer Truong Dinh Hoang.

According to the department, the city will not certify spontaneous and unruly fights.

Previously, on his Facebook, Flores announced he and Hoang had reached an agreement on terms and conditions relating to the fight.

Boxing champion of the SEA Games 2015 Hoang also posted about fighting Flores, with the bout scheduled for September in HCM City.

It is unclear under which rules the two combatants intend to fight.

On February, Hoang challenged Flores after he visited Viet Nam and made a stir to domestic martial arts circle.

Hoang, 28-years-old, has spent more than 10 years as a boxer, ruling the men’s 75kg class domestically. He won gold at the SEA Games 28, held in 2015, and owns a solo boxing club in Dak Lak Province. — VNS
