HA NOI -- The second Uni Super Championship Muay Thai Tournament will be held at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium in HCM City on Sunday.
The international competition attracts fighters from six countries along with those from the hosts.
According to Giap Trung Thang, general secretary of the HCM City Muay Department, after the first successful edition, the tournament had become an official event in Viet Nam.
Vietnamese athletes include No 1 fighter Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat and high-ranking Le Hoang Duc and Huynh Ha Huu Hieu.
Nhat will defend his lightweight bell against Phimwong Kitty of Thailand. Duc will be up against China’s Ye Ying Dong in the men’s flyweight while Hieu will fight Thai Nitinart Plabplerng in the women’s flyweight category. -- VNS
