HA NOI — Nguyen Hoang Sang of Le Doan-Kien Giang won the seventh stage of the Return to the Countryside cycling tournament yesterday.
Sang won in a time of 1:23.38 in the 50km race around Tran Hung Dao Street in Soc Trang City. Sang’s teammate Huynh Van Thuan and Bui Van Sanh of Hiep Nhat-Tinh Bien finished second and third, respectively.
Although Quang Van Cuong of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang didn’t rank in top three of this stage, he still holds the yellow jersey for best overall time of 17:00.52 after seven stages. Yoeun Phi Yuth of Cambodia and Nguyen Minh Luan of Premium Cycling Vinh Long are second and third, respectively.
Yuth holds the green jersey for best sprinter with 91 points.
The team rankings were unchanged, with Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang on top with a total time of 51:03.35, followed by Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap and Premium Cycling Vinh Long.
Today, cyclists will compete in the eighth stage from Soc Trang City to Vi Thanh City. — VNS
