HA NOI — V. League 1 club Ha Noi FC has decided to recall midfielder Tran Dinh Trong from Sai Gon FC to play for them in the upcoming football season.
The 21-year-old player used to play for Ha Noi FC but was borrowed by Sai Gon FC under a loan contract.
The Hanoian has been a key player for Sai Gon FC in the three recent tournaments. Strong, reliable and vigilant, Trong helped Sai Gon FC rank fifth in last year’s event.
According to experts, Trong is one of the potential young midfielders in Vietnamese football at present. He played well for Sai Gon in the national premier league and for the national U23 team in the AFC U23 Championship in China, in which Viet Nam became the runner-up.
Trong’s contract with Sai Gon is valid until the end of this year. However, he will return to Ha Noi FC.
“Trong will come back to play for Ha Noi from the beginning of the league in March. With Trong’s presence, Ha Noi’s defence line will be very strong,” said Nguyen Quoc Tuan, deputy director of Ha Noi FC.
“I am very happy to be back to play for the capital team. I will give my best to my native team,” Trong said. — VNS
