HÀ NỘI — The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) recently announced the seedings ahead of the draw for the 2024 ASEAN Championship, previously known as the AFF Cup 2024.
Việt Nam have been placed in the top seed group, alongside Thailand.
Thailand, having won the championship title seven times, were placed in Pot 1. Việt Nam secured a spot in the top seed group for being the tournament winners in 2008 and 2018.
Pot 2 consists of teams such as Indonesia and Malaysia, while Singapore and the Philippines were placed in the third group.
Myanmar and Cambodia found themselves in Pot 4, while the final group comprises Laos and either Brunei or Timor-Leste.
The teams will be divided into two groups and compete in a round-robin format. The draw is scheduled to take place on May 21 in Hà Nội.
The ASEAN Championship 2024 is set to kick off on November 23, 2024 and will conclude on February 21, 2025.
This is the 15th edition of the tournament and is the first to be rebranded as the ASEAN Championship. VNS
