HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese golfers will compete in the 2023 South-East Asian Amateur Golf Team Championship from August 20-24 at the Mines Golf Resort, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Nine golfers, under coach Bạch Cường Khang, will take part in the 60th Putra Cup for men, 12th Santi Cup for women, 13th Lion City Cup for the male juniors and seventh Kartini Cup for under-16 female golfers.
Lê Chúc An, 16, will take part in the 12th Santi Cup at the regional tournament.
Among the Vietnamese taking part are national champion Nguyễn Nhất Long, Việt Nam's highest ranking player in world amateur table and rising star Nguyễn Anh Minh who was a member of the Asia-Pacific team which won Bonallack Trophy earlier this month.
Both of them will eye the Putra Cup trophy while Lê Chúc An, the national women's winner, will compete for the Santi silverware.
According to the Việt Nam Golf Association, the competitors will leave for Malaysia soon to have time to test the golf course. With the recent remarkable results of players at the international and local tournament, Vietnamese golfers would are hoping for high results from the Kuala Lumpur event. VNS
