HA NOI — The Vinpearl World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) Viet Nam 2018 is scheduled to tee off on July 28 at Vinpearl Golf South Hoi An in Quang Nam Province.
Golfers will be divided into five groups based on handicaps. The best golfers from each group will be selected for the Viet Nam team to compete at the World Finals to be held in Malaysia in October alongside 40 teams from around the world.
Players will also have the chance to shoot for two hole-in-one prizes for two luxury cars valued at nearly VND12 billion (US$521,700).
The tournament is part of the World Amateur Golfers Championship, which is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur golf tournaments.
Viet Nam began participating in the World Amateur Golf Championship in 2011. The tournament gives Vietnamese amateur golfers a chance to meet and compete with international players. — VNS
