HCM CITY — HCM City’s District 5 is planning to set up more traditional craft streets and provide free wifi here to attract visitors.
The district has already earmarked a street each for traditional medicine, jewellery and fashion, a ceremony held recently to launch the “Hello District 5” travel guidebook heard.
Soon district authorities will revamp paintings shops on Tran Phu and lantern stores on Luong Nhu Hoc Streets to make them more attractive to tourists.
They also plan to make free wifi available on the traditional medicine, jewellery and fashion streets this year to enable buyers to make online payments.
Truong Thi Minh Kieu, deputy chairwoman of the district People’s Committee, said the traditional medicine and jewellery streets are attracting a large number of visitors, and authorities plan to offer new services and experiences there to make them more appealing. — VNS
