KIEN GIANG — Travellers to the Mekong province of Kien Giang should pay a visit to see the pristine beauty and peaceful atmosphere of Hon Nghe (Nghe Islet) in the coastal district of Kien Luong.

To reach there, they can take a sleeper bus to Ha Tien Town from the Western Bus Terminal in HCM City. Once they arrive there, they can take a coach to Nga Ba Hon Wharf and catch a boat to the islet.

Visitors will find beautiful landscapes and pleasant weather all year round in the oval-shaped islet with sparkling blue sea water and wild rocks.

The religious-minded can visit some sacred sites such as Lien Ton Pagoda, Phat Co Don Cave, and Gia Long King Cave between the Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays and mid-March every year to pray for prosperity, good luck and good health.

Visitors can go fishing in the cool, fresh water to draw close to nature and get away from the worries and stresses of everyday life while savouring a selection of tasty seafood and learning more about the lives of local fishermen. — VNS
