THANH HOA — The central province of Thanh Hoa has launched a tour of the ancient Dong Son village in Thanh Hoa City’s Ham Rong Ward.
Surrounded by the Rong (Dragon), Voi (Elephant) and Hum (Tiger) mountains and the Ma (Horse) River, the village is considered one of the country’s most 10 beautiful old villages.
Having more than 370 households, the village has an architectural design of a pure agricultural village, with peaceful alleys, temples, pagodas, caves and wells.
The tour offers information about the Dong Son culture dating back to the peak of the Bronze Age and early Iron Age (from 400 BC to 300AD). Bronze artifacts such as Dong Son bronze drums, production tools, weapons and utensils have been found at archaeological sites.
