Many young, talented singers who win first or
runner-up prizes at famous local singing contests end up facing
obstacles, and sometimes losing their way, in the race to fame.
HCM City Television (HTV), in co-operation with its
partners, will broadcast a special live programme tonight to mark the
70th anniversary of the Viet Nam People''s Army and the 25th anniversary
of the National Defence Day (December 22).
The HCM City Television (HTV) is set to produce a TV
series featuring traditional opera by late playwright Tran Huu Trang,
one of the region''s foremost artists in cai luong (reformed theatre).
Viettel Television Company, which has the rights to broadcast the UEFA
European 2016 qualifying stage in Viet Nam, will coordinate with HCM
City Television (HTV) to exploit the opportunity.
HCM City Television (HTV) and Cuu Long Studio, a
private film company, have contributed financing and staff to produce a
new TV programme aimed at the farming community in southern provinces.
The semi-final of HCM City Television (HTV)''s annual Vong Co (Nostalgic Tunes) Golden Bell Contest, beginning on August 1, will have 48 contestants in the fray.
