National carrier Vietnam Airlines and the National Sports Administration
yesterday held a farewell for the Vietnamese sports delegation taking
part in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Vietnamese fencers are aiming to win the first gold
medals for the Viet Nam sports delegation at the coming 28th Southeast
Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore next month.
A send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese delegation to
the 28th Southeast Asian Games is planned at the National Sports Centre
in Ha Noi on May 19, marking the 125th anniversary of the birth of
President Ho Chi Minh.
Viet Nam have been set a goal of winning from 60 to
70 gold medals to rank in the top three at the 28th Southeast Asian
(SEA) Games to be held in Singapore from June 5-16.
Viet Nam will participate in six events at the International Martial
Arts Festival 2015, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 12 to
22, said the National Sports Administration.
The National Sports Administration will invest VND3.8 billion
(US$180,000) to train 11 Vietnamese disabled athletes to help them earn
cards for competing in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
Duong Quoc Hoan of HCM City yesterday beat Da Nang''s
Hoang Dai Thien 7-2 to take the men''s 10-ball individual final during
the National Sports Games.
