Defending champions Viet Nam will face Malaysia in the semi-finals of
the women''s football competition at the 27th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games
today in Mandalay city, Myanmar.
Viet Nam overcame Indonesia 3-0 in the semi finals booking a place in
the finals at the International Sepaktakraw Federation Super Series in
Kuala Lumpur.
Viet Nam have almost secured a berth in the semi-finals after
demolishing the Philippines 10-1 in their Group B second match at the
Southeast Asian Futsal Championships yesterday.
Viet Nam recorded a hard fought 2-1 victory over a
dogged 10-woman Myanmar side in the last match of the group stage at the
ASEAN Women''s Football Championships.
Viet Nam''s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh defeated Malaysia''s
Daren Liew 14-21, 21-11, 21-13 in the quarter-finals of the Li Ning
Singapore Open yesterday.
