HA NOI — A music video made with the participation of hundreds of singers, public figures, athletes and volunteers was released last week during the celebration of Viet Nam’s National Day on September 2 (1945-2016).
The 9-minute-long video included Vietnamese celebrities sang Viet Nam, My Home Land, a song written by veteran composer Do Nhuan, which expresses love and admiration for the people and his homeland.
Ideas for the video, conceived and executed by singer Minh Quan, included footage of the country’s most charming landscapes with bird’s-eye views of Ha Long Bay, Trang An Landscape Complex and Hue Imperial Citadel.
Quan urged friends and fans to widely share the footage to introduce Viet Nam’s landscape and people to the international community. He pleaded with younger generations to "uphold patriotic spirit just as our forefathers did in the past."
The singer said he hopes that the video will contribute to the country’s efforts to safeguard its island sovereignty in the East Sea (internationally known as the South China Sea).
He also announced on his Facebook page that he was contacted by the Foreign Ministry for permission to use the music video on websites of all Vietnamese embassies around the world as an introduction to the country and the people of Viet Nam. — VNS
