HCM CITY — The Colours of Jazz has returned to R&J Italian Lounge & Restaurant at The Reverie Saigon with a live jazz series performance by renowned jazz singer Trebeka every Tuesday to Sunday night from 7pm to 10pm.
The multi-talented singer will perform her stylish mix of jazz standards and original material. Trebeka was born in France into a family with roots in Africa, Europe and Asia. She has worked with artists including Stephanie Mills, Catherine Lara, Cheb Mami and Lonnie Plaxico, to name but a few.
She was signed to publisher Warner Chappell as a songwriter, and recorded her album Willow Weep For Me in New York City with Plaxico serving as producer and musical director.
A dedicated professional, Trebeka performs more than 300 shows a year, and has worked in the US, Middle East, Europe, Asia, Latin America and more.
The Colours of Jazz marks the first time she will entertain audiences in HCM City. Jazz critic Nicole J. Rhodes said: “Talented, sophisticated and charismatic, if Sade had a sister, her name would be Trebeka.”
Also debuting at R&J is the new cigar lounge on the mezzanine level. Open from 5pm until midnight every day, the lounge boasts the same enticing menu available in all other areas of R&J and an impeccable selection of cigars from Cuba and other noted cigar-producing nations.
Taking its name from Shakespeare’s epic romance Romeo and Juliet, R&J stokes a similar passion in lovers of traditional Italian cuisine.
