HA NOI — A Viet Nam Exhibition pavillion combining tradition and modernity has received hundreds of visitors in recent days at Expo 2017 Astana in the capital of Kazakhstan.
Expo 2017 Astana, themed Future Power, brings together exhibits from 115 countries and territories between June 10 and September 10. The 25ha grounds enable countries to introduce their beauty, potential and innitiatives in using power sources for sustainbale development.
Viet Nam’s exhibition was set up by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on a total area of more than 400sq.m. Various photos and videos tell the story of a country with beautiful landscapes and rich cultures, and the richness of the Mekong Delta region. They also introduce the various problems caused by climate change in the country and call for international co-operation for a better future. The displays also include solutions for future power sources, like wind and solar power.
The country’s tourism potential is highlighted with handicrafts offered at the site.
Nguyen Trung Khanh, head of the ministry’s International Co-operation Department, said the pavillion will host traditional performances every day, together with shows by artists from the Viet Nam Music Academy and Viet Nam Puppetry Theatre. — VNS
