HA NOI — A multisensory exhibition on Shan tea, the wild tea trees grown by ethnic minorities in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, will open to the public from 6pm on June 1 at French cultural centre L’Espace.

Entitled Tra ART, the exhibition is the result of the same name art project which was initiated by the Paris-based Vietnamese photographer Nguyen Thi Tuong Van.

The project brings together five artists from five different fields to collaborate. They include animator Nguyen Quynh Phuong, 3D artist Marcus Bowler, the late painter Gerald Gorridge, sculptor Tran Thu Hang, and artist/musician Ngo Hong Quang.

Tra ART is an experience that will awaken the five senses and show a world of Shan tea through different art forms. Audiences will also have the chance to witness a dance performance by Mai Anh with background music written by musician Quang while enjoying premium Shan tea at the opening at 6pm on June 1.

The free entry exhibition will run until July 9. L’Espace is at 24 Trang Tien Street. — VNS
