HCM CITY — Dozens of singers, dancers and musicians will perform at the Music Fest concert in HCM City tomorrow.
The event will feature among others pop stars Dam Vinh Hung and Ho Ngoc Ha.
Young pop idol Son Tung M-TP, winner of 2017 SBS Pop Asia Best Solo Release award from the Australia-based SBS PopAsia music radio, will also perform.
Tung began his career in 2011 in HCM City, quickly becoming a phenomenon in the industry.
His major hits include Em Cua Ngay Hom Qua (You Come from Yesterday), Con Mua Ngang Qua (The Rain) and Khong Phai Vua Dau (Nothing Common).
His music video Am Tham Ben Em (Stand By You) was viewed more than three million times in one day on YouTube in 2015.
He was nominated for the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) Best Worldwide Act.
His latest video, Lac Troi (Drifting), achieved a new record by attracting nearly five million views on YouTube in just one day after its release last January, making Tung, a native of Quang Binh Province, the year’s outstanding artist.
The concert will also feature Vietnamese-American singer Toc Tien and the pop band Da Lap.
Singers will perform bolero, pop, dance, and electric music.
They will perform solo and in groups with support from dancers and musicians from the HCM City School of Dance and Hoang Thong Group.
“More than 20,000 free tickets are on offer to young people in HCM City and neighbouring provinces,” the show’s producer, Vuong My Phung, said.
Music Fest, to be held at the 7th Military Zone Gymnasium, 202 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District, will begin at 8pm. — VNS
